It's
not what you eat, but what you absorb that counts.
Negative nutrition affects your ability to absorb
nutrients from food. If you are not absorbing to the max then you won't be

affected by many factors:

during the day. The rate varies between people slows with age.
Your daily activity - does your job involve
physical activity? - this will drain the system.

Similarly how much energy do you
put in your system?
Skip one meal (or
have a poor appetite) then you start with a negative balance.
